Ruben Smith

Ruben Smith is a founding partner and managing shareholder of the law firm of AlvaradoSmith, which has offices throughout California. Mr. Smith began practicing law with Morrison & Foerster in 1984, after completing his legal education at Yale University. He has also been a partner in the law firm McKittrick, Jackson, DeMarco & Peckpaugh, served as a staff assistant in the White House Office of Hispanic Affairs under President Jimmy Carter and worked for the City of Los Angeles’ Legislative Analyst’s office in Washington, D.C. Mr. Smith currently serves on the boards of the California Housing Finance Agency, the Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee for the Southern California Minority Business Development Council and the City National Bank Latino Advisory Board, and chairs the USC Latino Alumni Association’s Corporate Advisory Council. He is a past president of the Hispanic Bar Association of Orange County, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Orange County and the Orange County Fair Board.
